We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping team and ensure the cleanliness and overall maintenance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in managing housekeeping operations efficiently. The Housekeeping Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for both guests and staff.

Area: Hoedspruit

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid RSA Driver’s License
  • Proficient in MS Office and Email
  • Exceptional Guest Relations skills
  • to manage staff
  • Understanding and ability to manage the housekeeping department
  • Ability to plan ahead and problem solve
  • Financial Ability experience in budget control, stock takes and stock control

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Big 5 reserve and 5 star lodge necessary
  • Previous housekeeping supervisory experience

 
Package:

  • Salary is negotiable depending on experience and references

 Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Implement and monitor policies, processes, and standards to ensure effective high quality housekeeping service is provided to guests
  • Implement and monitor processes to understand housekeeping needs and
  • expectations of guests, and reports on these
  • Implement and monitor processes that facilitate immediate response to
  • housekeeping requests received from guests
  • Provide direction, oversight, and guidance to the housekeeping team
  • Ensure daily housekeeping workflow is completed timeously as set out
  • Ensure housekeeping discrepancy report is handed to the general manager
  • timeously every day as set out by your daily workflow
  • Attend and or conduct morning briefing with the housekeeping team
  • Daily linen count
  • Monitor laundry department and ensure laundry is up to date and that the linen
  • cleanliness is up to standard
  • Housekeeping manager (continued):
  • Implement and monitor with senior Food and Beverage leaders and supervisors,
  • fellow housekeeping, and the stewarding department to ensure effective par-stock
  • levels for utensils, chinaware, glassware, flatware, hollowware, cutlery, and other
  • items required for the operation of the housekeeping department
  • Ensure the housekeeping department implement all relevant security and health and
  • safety policies, processes, and procedures ensuring compliance with local legislation
  • Implement and monitor implementation of an effective keys control system for areas
  • relevant to the housekeeping department, ensuring safety and security of residents,
  • equipment, and supplies
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration of housekeeping team across the
  • organization
  • Support the housekeeping function to implement and monitor an effective pest
  • control system for housekeeping areas and monitor and report the effectiveness of
  • the system
  • Ensure the housekeeping team provides impeccable, intuitive, and proactive
  • customer service to guests consistently
  • Implement and report on team daily service and operational objectives

  • Stock control and stock takes
  • Maintain the correct allocations of expenditures
  • Rooms Division
  • Manage the housekeeping and laundry departments in conjunction with the General Manager
  • Ensure the lodge maintains the required standards aesthetically
  • Ensure costs are maintained as per the required standard
