Protect Group operate a global Membership Programme for the travel, hospitality and events industries that provide a range of refund services that enhance customer experience and boost revenue. For example, we help online booking agents provide a full refundable booking option to their customers.
Job Role
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager or entrepreneur to join a dynamic team of Protect People, who can take ownership of a product area and passionately grow a concept into fully functional and commercially successful products.
The industries which we work across and can be considered relevant experience include: Events, Travel, Hospitality, Transportation, Fin-tech, Insur-tech, Financial Services.
We would expect you to be a natural entrepreneur, who is accountable for their product area, and who has a real hunger to deliver commercially successful projects within deadlines and achieve agreed commercial objectives.
You will be responsible for owning your role – creating a roadmap for your product area and managing the product development from initial concept to launch, as well as continuously optimising the product’s commercial performance. Experience in product development is required, and experience developing products across the above industries would be advantageous but not essential as long as you have a strong work ethic and be always willing to learn.
Product Development & Delivery
- Lead the development, strategy, and execution of the product roadmap.
- Launch MVPs successfully and use analysis and data-driven insight to continuously optimise products.
- Work in a global cross-functional agile team to achieve unified commercial goals.
- Building and owning relationships with key suppliers, with the ability to negotiate supplier prices.
- Managing product financials including business case development, income forecasting and budgeting.
- Collaborating with commercial and technology teams to understand commercial impact of new products or features and support the sales drive to achieve product commercial targets.
- Create and manage product processes, literature, and communications.
- Identify opportunities for new and existing products through internal team collaborating, analysis and industry networking / research.
- Set up, configure and maintain product management tools/software and roadmaps.
- Develop regular data-driven business cases and progress reports to key stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong communicator and excellent storyteller with effective influencing skills.
- Creative, thinking outside the box to deliver innovative solutions to problems.
- Demonstrate numeracy, analytical and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, passionate, innovative and well organised.
- Understanding of APIs, databases, e-commerce / web / app technologies.
- Experience in agile software development and software design techniques including UX/UI.
- Demonstrable project management skills or qualifications.
- Experience managing multiple projects with budgets and delivering on time within budget.
- Fluent English is a requirement of the role.
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in any of the following sectors:
Ticketing, Events & Sports, OTA, Travel & Tours, Transport, Accommodation, Financial Services, Fin-tech, Insur-tech.
- Project Management qualifications and/or demonstrable skills.
- Prior experience developing project from start to finish.
- Prior experience with e-commerce/SaaS technologies.
- Experience of working in fast-paced digital environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Experience working with CMS in particular, WordPress.
